Renowned painter Skënder Kamberi passes away at the age of 87

Painter Skënder Kamberi has passed away at the age of 87! With a life dedicated to art, Kamberi has been considered one of the most distinguished "paintbrushes" of Albanian painting since the early 1960s.
Several of his works, mainly compositions, are today in the collection of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana, in addition to being in the hands of many avid collectors of painting. His works have also crossed borders with exhibitions in Egypt, France, England, Turkey, Italy, Greece, etc.
Among the most valuable paintings by Skënder Kamberi are: the compositional paintings "Comrade's Help" (1966), "Count Vrana's Oath" (1968), "Return of the Submarines", "Bread from Our Hands" (1976), "At the Belvedere in Vienna as if I saw Skënderbën" (1977), "Otranto, 1997" and the portrait of the warrior Sali Vranishti (1971) and the poet Maro Pasho (1973).
Born in Vlora on February 2, 1939, Skënder Kamberi graduated from the Faculty of Arts in 1960 and continued his studies at the Higher Institute of Arts, where he graduated in 1965.
In those years, he returned to his hometown, where, together with the painter Nestor Jonuzi, he made a special contribution to the widespread spread of painting in the city.
