An operation against Call Centers took place a few days ago in Tirana, where at least 3 of them were hit and large sums of money were seized.
In an interview for the show "Oponencë" on News24, a Call Center operator explained how the fraud scheme worked, how the work was divided, and how customers were 'targeted'.
"It's a meta trender 4 or 5 platform, which is the latest. The minimum amount was around 250 euros. And this platform was controlled by the company. At that time, payments were made directly with a credit card, each client could log in with their credit card, where they logged in directly and also took a photo of their ID card. At the moment the deposit was made, the money was in the company's profit and the numbers are fictitious in the system... If they deposited 250 euros, they could get another 250 euros. This was a fraud scheme. I was forced to encourage the client to learn to use the platform, the markets... In three days or almost a week, depending on the client, I could make them double the amount... ", he said.
Operator: In 2014, when the Forex boom started, the lists were through Call Center numbers that had a very large database. At first, they would take all the numbers and if the client showed interest, the financial expert would be passed on, but in fact it was another operator and the client was made to understand that he was a financial expert, the game was to pretend to be with very potential clients and convince them that I was successful with my clients. And this happened with each client, I would do an analysis of where he should invest and until he reached the profit... At the end of the week, until I led him to the profit that I had planned, I also had to get information about what work the client did... I worked in the Italian market and we had a joke, if he was a young guy, he doesn't have money... we would profile him to see if he was an investor or an entrepreneur. Everyone knew it was a scam, because you can't say that a 20-22 year old knows about finance or world markets. The tours were in the countries where they operated, America, Canada, Australia. For Europe, work started in the morning and ended in the afternoon, from 09:00 to 19:00, and there were about 150 people in the room in the company where I was.
