The National Library of Albania celebrates its 105th anniversary today

The National Library of Albania today celebrates the 105th anniversary of its founding.
July 10, 1920 opened an important and eternal chapter in the history of books, periodicals and the country's cultural heritage, through the establishment of the most important cultural institution in the country, the National Library (BKSH).
The collection of this library's funds began with donations and then through the continuous efforts of intellectuals of the time to enrich its collection.
Today, the National Library preserves a considerable number of manuscripts, rare incunabula, around 2900 antiquarians, maps and copies of every publication in the Republic of Albania.
The BKSH institution invites us on this day to remember and reflect on the incomparable values of books, reading, study, and above all, knowledge of the history of our written culture.
The National Library also announces that a series of activities will be held in the wake of this important anniversary.
