The DP fortress that became Berisha's tavern and Rama's fortress
What happens in the Democratic Party no longer surprises me. The same people, the same words, the same decor, the same protests with the same result: the consolidation of Edi Rama's power.
It is sad for an opponent of this government to realize the powerlessness of its leaders. They have locked themselves in their former castle and are excluding from there any voice that thinks that Edi Rama can win with votes.
The glorious days of the Democratic Party, the times when it became the haven of all opposition intellectual thought, where divisions were overcome in the name of things that united, are over for good.
We are now in an era when the "glorious" Castle of the opposition has turned into a tavern where fanatics take shelter whose refrain is the mournful and victimizing saying: "Rama cannot win with votes". The goal is not to inspire confidence but to justify defeat, to instill in those remaining voters that it is not their fault, that they are doing everything possible, but it is Rama's clientelistic-patronage system that has turned Albania into a fiefdom.
But if that's the case, why should voters vote for Mejhanen? Let them vote for Rama and bring back monism once again. At least that's how the mask of pluralism falls. To keep 20-30 MPs who receive salaries and hold press conferences?! I reject this reason.
Have the Këstjëla MPs ever come out to meet their constituents? To share their problems with them, to listen to them, to explain them, to give them confidence? They receive huge salaries and allowances and act as if they own the Opposition and opposition thought. In fact, they are Edi Rama's Revolutionary Guard.
Which opposition MPs have come out to denounce the urban massacre that has been and is being committed to Tirana every day? What about the farmers who are going bankrupt? The total abandonment of rural areas, the turning of Albania into an international nursing home? What are the problems of the people in Konsipol, Leskovik, Tufina, Lekbibaj, Martanesh or in every corner of poverty and hopelessness?
When MPs stay in the areas and not hang out in Tirana, the votes will come. Because the biggest anger of voters is not their problems, but because they have nowhere to complain.

Today's Democratic Party is Sali Berisha's Party, it is his Castle. Period. Whoever does not understand this has not understood anything. He has 200, 300 or 400 thousand people behind him. Whoever comes to power must unlock those votes – take them from him or take theirs to Berisha. There is no other way. I have always thought that there will be a way for Berisha himself to free his votes for the benefit of a greater cause, the conceiving of the opposition's hope for victory. He would find the way. He proved it in 2005, he knew how to overcome his biggest public detractors by offering them the cake of power.
But this time it seems that he is too late to be in power. That is why he has chosen to compact the ranks instead of adding to them. The main institution of his Castle is the cafe to the right of SHQUP.
Only the obedient, the fanatics, and his apostles have room in the Castle. Let the others create their own castle.
Any hope that Berisha would accept alternative thinking, a meritorious system of values, an alternative form of governance, a spirit of tolerance and coexistence, has ended. Just as in the old days, every alternative mind is declared an agent and polyagent and, unable to be imprisoned, is isolated by the democratic Mejhanja of mediocrity.
It should be added here that there is despair only among the opposition people, not in the leadership and its fanatics. They are monolithic around the leader and are vigilant lest some ghostly figure arrives in the Castle who goes and meets the people. As soon as the “ghostly figure” leaves the Castle, joy erupts within it: “No one is breaking our unity.” The fanatical castle-goers do not worry if the “ghostly figure” takes votes from their pockets, there is enough there to ensure the existence of the loyalists. 200 thousand votes are enough. With that, they are no longer asked to come to power, they can be called “resisters”, “osokukas” or “heroes”.
This allows for their victimization and preservation of ranks.
Let the enemies increase, they will be declared such by special decree of the Castle.
What is left for Ervin Salianj to do, this Mehmet Shehu of our times, now that the Castle has given the verdict of "self-exclusion". Even the humble Mehmet Shehu "committed suicide". Isn't the logic the same?
Salianji will mind his own business. Since Kështjella does not want him, then he will try to get some votes from Kështjella, say 50 or 60 thousand. He will also make 2 or 3 deputies. Shortly before the elections, Kështjellari will invite him to the “Victory Coalition” and when he says that I am “self-excluded” they will accuse him of being a tool of the Sultan.
In fact, the DP's Mejhanja is Edi Rama's Castle. That's where his "publicity" victory comes from...
