Zelensky meets with Meloni at the EU leaders' summit in London, the Italian Prime Minister: We are with Ukraine!

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met today in London with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, at the EU leaders' summit taking place in the United Kingdom.

According to a statement from the Italian government, the meeting provided the opportunity to once again emphasize Italy's support for Ukraine and the appreciation and commitment of its people.

As reported by the media, Meloni stated that together with European and Western partners such as the United States, we will work to build a just and lasting peace, which ensures a future of sovereignty, security and freedom in Ukraine.

"I am grateful to Italy for its continued support and cooperation in bringing peace to Ukraine," the Ukrainian president said, among other things.

 “I had a productive meeting with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni to develop a joint action plan to end the war with a just and lasting peace,” the Ukrainian president said in a post on Platform X, adding : “Putin is interested in the continuation and speedy return of the war. Therefore, it is important to maintain unity around Ukraine and strengthen our country's position in cooperation with our allies – the countries of Europe and the United States. Ukraine needs peace backed by strong security guarantees. I am grateful to Italy for its continued support and cooperation in bringing peace to Ukraine.”
