United States Vice President JD Vance has stated that great progress has been made in the last few hours in diplomatic talks with Iran that are being held in Switzerland.
He described this as a historic meeting, noting that, with the exception of recent months, the leadership of the two countries has never met before at such a high level.
According to him, American negotiators aim to transform the Middle East through diplomacy and joint work, ending the long-running conflict between Iran and the Gulf countries. Vance stressed that the US sees a future where all parties work together to promote global peace and prosperity.
Concluding his statement, the vice president announced that the president's request is to open a new page with the people of Iran.
The United States is willing to radically transform relations with this country, provided that the Iranian leadership is willing to give up fueling regional instability and its long-standing nuclear weapons ambitions.
