How the CIA's disinformation campaign helped rescue the downed American pilot in Iran

US officials confirmed to "FOX News" that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) conducted a widespread disinformation campaign, which was part of Washington's mission to rescue the American pilot who crashed in Iran, A2CNN reports.
We recall that the F-15 jet was shot down by Iranian forces in southeastern Iran.
The pilot, whose name has not yet been released, was one of two crew members on the F-15 at the time of the crash. A US military team managed to rescue the pilot within a day, while the second crew member remained trapped in the mountainous area for 36 hours before being rescued by US forces.
The CIA campaign involved spreading information inside Iran that US forces had located the pilot and were transporting him overland, confusing Iranian forces and leadership in their efforts to find him. While Iranian authorities grappled with this disinformation, US intelligence was able to locate the pilot and facilitate a special forces rescue mission.
“It was a ‘needle in a haystack’ scenario,” a U.S. official told FOX News. “ A brave American, hidden inside a mountain hut, invisible to conventional means, but discovered through CIA intelligence .”
In addition to the intelligence campaign, the rescue mission involved hundreds of special forces personnel, dozens of American fighter jets and helicopters.
