Catholic Easter/ Pope Leo XIV: World wounded by wars and abuse

In his message for Catholic Easter , Pope Leo XIV declared that the world today is filled with wounds from wars, injustices and abuses, but emphasized that God remains present through the hope that the resurrection brings.
" We see evil in injustice, in the selfishness of individuals, in the oppression of the poor and in the lack of attention to the most vulnerable ," the pope said, underlining that violence and conflicts are increasingly weighing on humanity.
He spoke of the "wounds of the world" and the cries of pain coming from every side, citing abuses against the weakest, the exploitation of natural resources, and the destruction brought about by war.
However, the Pope stressed that hope is not lacking: "God is alive and remains with us. Through the cracks of resurrection that open in the darkness, he entrusts our hearts to hope."
In his sermon, he also focused on the inner challenges of man, such as disappointment, loneliness, and spiritual fatigue, comparing them to a “tunnel with no exit.” But, according to him, even in the darkest moments, something new always arises.
" Easter reminds us that in the risen Christ, a new creation is possible every day. It is a new beginning and a song of hope for all humanity ," concluded Pope Leo XIV .
