The US offered $5 million for his 'head'! "El Jardinero", one of the leaders of the powerful Mexican cartel, is captured

An operation by Mexican Navy special forces has resulted in the arrest of Audias Flores Silva, a key figure within the Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) cartel. The operation took place in the state of Nayarit, north of the city of Guadalajara, and was confirmed by the Secretary of Security, Omar Garcia Harfuch.
According to authorities, Flores Silva was one of the most important regional leaders of the criminal organization, with great influence in the Pacific coastal areas. He was also considered one of the potential candidates to take over the leadership of the cartel after the current leader, Nemesio Oseguera. There was an arrest warrant for him in Mexico, while the US authorities had requested his extradition, setting a reward of up to 5 million dollars for his capture.
The arrest came after a well-organized operation by the navy, involving elite units. Flores Silva faces serious charges in the United States, including international drug trafficking – particularly cocaine and heroin – as well as weapons-related offenses. He was also included in the US Treasury Department’s list of international drug traffickers. This is not the first time he has faced justice: he had previously served a five-year sentence for similar offenses before returning to criminal activity.
The CJNG cartel, created in 2009, is today considered one of the most powerful and violent drug trafficking organizations in Mexico.
