Promising to "annihilate it," Israel attacks Iran's state television building
Reuters news agency reported that shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Israel bombed Iran's state television.
The attack came just after the Israeli Defense Minister said the television station would be “destroyed.” Debris was also seen falling into the studio during the live broadcast.
A few hours ago, the Israeli army issued an evacuation order for Tehran residents living in the area where the state television station was located.
In a Persian-language post on the X platform, the IDF stated that they “will take action in this area in the coming hours,” stressing that “your presence in this area endangers your lives.”
The area in question, one of Tehran's 21 districts, is among the wealthiest and most populous, home to residential buildings and state institutions, including the headquarters of Iran's state broadcaster, IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting).
