WHO raises alarm: Gaza's healthcare system on the verge of collapse

The World Health Organization warned today that the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli military operations have recently intensified, is collapsing, highlighting the massive displacement of the civilian population and severe shortages of basic necessities.
Four major hospitals in Gaza were forced to suspend operations last week. World Health Organization teams trying to reach the Indonesian and Al Awda hospitals were blocked, the WHO says.
Only 19 of the 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip remain functional, while at least 94% of them have been damaged, the WHO reports, specifying that only 12 hospitals in the Palestinian enclave are able to provide a wide range of health services.
