A powerful earthquake hits Russia, what was the magnitude

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale hit an area in the Pacific Ocean near Kamchatka this morning, the local seismological service in Kamchatka reported.

" The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Krochnot Bay, 164 kilometers east of the village of Miljkovo in the municipal district of Miljkovo, at a depth of 123 kilometers ," said a seismologist's announcement, Interfax reports.

Earthquakes with a magnitude of up to two magnitudes were felt in certain areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Viljučina city districts.

There are no injuries and there is no danger of a tsunami.
