Masked police officers raided Andrew Tate's home in Romania on Wednesday morning as the controversial influencer awaits trial on charges of human trafficking, rape and the creation of a structured criminal group that sexually exploited women.
Romania's Anti-Organized Crime Agency announced it had searched four apartments in Bucharest and Ilfov as part of investigations into allegations of human trafficking, minors, sex with minors and money laundering.
Tate spokeswoman Mateea Petrescu was quoted by the Associated Press as saying that the US-British legal team was present during the raid, but would not comment on the allegations involving minors.
Andrew Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan, 36, were arrested in 2022 near Bucharest along with two Romanian women. Charges against them were formally brought after four years, but they deny them. After spending 3 months in prison, they were placed under house arrest and then forced to appear, without the right to leave Romania.
