Murder in Elbasan/ Appeal releases Kujtim Piša, the security guard of the Mahallë business, from prison

After 3 and a half months in prison, the Tirana Court of Appeal has decided to change the security measure for the arrested Kujtim Pisha, who was detained by the Elbasan criminal police on the night of the murder of businessman Edmond Mëhalla.
Kujtim Pisha was the gas station attendant at "Xhaxhi Oil" in Mahalla, but he was arrested by the police as a suspect on the charge of "Failure to report a crime" and then it was the Elbasan Court that imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him.
But a few days ago, the Tirana Court of Appeal decided to change the security measure from "Arrest in prison" to "Compulsory appearance" for the fuel employee, Kujtim Pisha.
According to the investigative file, Kujtim Pisha was arrested after the prosecutor in the case argued that he did not call the Elbasan police operations room, although he was informed that the business owner, Edmond Mëhalla, had been killed in his workplace.
In his testimony, Pisha claimed that he did not call the police, as the employee of the "Green Taxi" company had committed such an act. But this claim was not enough to save him from arrest.
Currently, Pisha has been released. While a short time ago, Aldo Buzhani, the brother of the victim Mondi Mëhalla, was questioned for the second time regarding the murder that occurred on November 30, 2025 in the city of Elbasan.
Buzhani gave explanations to the investigation group regarding possible conflicts that his brother, Mondi, had.
It is learned that Buzhani has indicated that he did not have any conflict with his partner, Xhino Ago, who remains in prison today, Mondi Mëhalla, and consequently, he has excluded him from his suspicions that Ago may have participated in the murder.
Furthermore, Aldo Buzhani and his sister have also submitted notarial statements to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, clarifying the position of Mondi Mëhalla's business partner, Xhino Ago.
Buzhani stated before the notary that: "...I declare with moral responsibility and before the authorities that the relationship with Ghino Ago has been and is very good. We consider him as our brother. I had two brothers, now I have one brother: Ghino...".
While the victim's sister, Brunilda Mëhalla, claimed:
"...I, Brunilda Mëhalla, declare that Ghino Ago, my brother's partner, has never had any conflicts with anyone. Our family relationship with him is very good. He is our brother. We have nothing against him...".
Meanwhile, Buzhani spoke about the conflicts his brother had with Marcelo Arani, regarding the rental of several vehicles, after which, according to his knowledge, Mondi discussed taking over two villas in Tirana, but those also resulted in problems.
Investigations into this matter are continuing with the re-interrogation of several other people, while those arrested for this serious incident are currently being held in isolation in prison by the Elbasan Prosecution Office: Nevzat alias Nevi Spahon from Prenjasi, fuel worker Kujtim Pisha, and Mëhalla's partner, Xhino Ago.
Meanwhile, the search continues for Elbasan resident Marselo Arani and the latter's friend from Laçi, citizen Armando Kola.
Regarding this issue, Nevzat Spaho, who is suspected of having directly participated in the murder of Mondi Mëhalla, has not at any time admitted the accusation, claiming other circumstances. /Syri.net/
