Bill Gates' name appears in Epstein dossier: I was a fool

Bill Gates has reacted after the publication of new documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, stating that he regrets having had contact with him and that he was a "fool" to spend time in his company.
The American billionaire has clarified that the email included in the recently released files was never sent to him. According to Gates, the 2013 message was written by Epstein to himself, although it was worded as if it were addressed to Gates with the salutation "Dear Bill."
In this email, Epstein alleged that Gates had ignored their friendship and mentioned a sexually transmitted disease, suggesting that he had been asked to provide antibiotics that would be secretly given to Gates' then-wife, Melinda French Gates.
In an interview given in Australia, Bill Gates said: "Apparently, Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. It was never sent and I don't know what he was thinking. I was one of many people who regret ever knowing him."
He stressed that his contacts with Epstein were limited to a few dinners and denied any other involvement:
"I never visited his private island and I had no contact with women. The more evidence that comes out, the clearer it becomes that, while that contact was wrong, it had nothing to do with this kind of behavior."
