One of the most wanted drug traffickers in Europe is executed in Mexico
A drug trafficker wanted in Europe was executed in Mexico. It is about 32-year-old Marco Ebben from the city of Schiedam in the Netherlands. It is suspected that the Dutchman was shot dead in a shootout between rival cartels.

The news of Ebben's death was confirmed in an Instagram post by Amsterdam rapper Djaga Djaga, who is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence for murder. "Rest in peace warrior, Marco Ebben ," he wrote.

Ebben has been on Europol's wanted criminals list for some time. He still had to serve a prison sentence in the Netherlands for his role in the drug trafficking case involving corrupt customs officer Gerrit G. In October 2020, the court sentenced Ebben to 7 years and 4 months in prison for drug trafficking from Brazil to Holland.

Marco Ebben was sentenced to 7 years in prison in 2020 for his involvement in cocaine trafficking. He was and still is on Europol's most wanted fugitives list last year.

He is the son of notorious Dutch criminal trafficker Henk Ebben. Marco still had to finish his sentence in the Netherlands.

Marco Ebben was born in 1992 and at that time, his father Henk was part of a large drug gang that called itself "Rainforest". The drug gang was said to be involved in smuggling hashish, ecstasy and other drugs into England. The narcotics were transported in trucks, hidden in fake Ralph Lauren T-shirts and Russian washing powder. Henk was also suspected of having ordered the death of several people.

Henk has been linked to five murders and was sentenced to life in prison, but on appeal the sentence was reduced to 18 years. He spent only five years in a maximum security prison.

In his interview with Dutch media outlet Rijnmond earlier this year, Marco Ebben claims he is able to live his lavish lifestyle and travel the world thanks to his in-laws' wealth.

"I have a very rich father-in-law, both in Russia and in Italy. They are part of the government and I do my work within those families. Let's leave it at that. I won't say more…”
