Knife attack in Germany, 5 injured

This Sunday, several people were celebrating outdoors near a bar in the city of Bielefeld, Germany, when a man allegedly attacked them with a knife.

According to German media reports, at least five people have been taken to hospital as a result of stab wounds.

The prosecutor's office and police announced at noon that the suspect in the attack is still at large. Multiple police forces are engaged in the operation to find and arrest him. Authorities added that the circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

Of the injured, three are in serious condition and are receiving hospital treatment, police said. Several knives were seized during a search of the scene, Spiegel.de reported.

Police have released a photo of the suspect and are appealing to the public for information that could lead to his arrest.
