New 'trouble' for the Meloni government, the journalist admits to having had a love affair with the Minister of the Interior

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's government is facing successive troubles, after losing the opportunity through the Referendum to reform Justice.
A revelation about the private life of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi has become a hot political issue in Italy, prompting reactions from the opposition and public debate.
During an interview, journalist and presenter Claudia Conte stated that she “cannot deny” the existence of an affair with Piantedos, who is married to the prefect of Grosseto. Her statement has attracted the attention of Italian media, which recalled that Conte was appointed in February as an advisor to a parliamentary commission on security and urban issues.
After the news was published, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's party, Fratelli d'Italia, confirmed its full support for Piantedos, emphasizing that parliamentary committee advisors are not paid for their role.
However, various analysts have drawn comparisons with the case of former Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano, who was forced to resign last year after the publication of an extramarital affair with influencer Maria Rosaria Boccia.
The opposition has asked the government to provide detailed explanations in parliament, raising doubts about the journalist's possible benefits, including engagements at the Italian Police Academy.
Meanwhile, next week, Prime Minister Meloni is expected to deliver a speech in parliament, where in addition to international issues and the domestic political situation, it is considered possible to also address the Piantedosi-Conte case and its political implications.
