"There is no reason it was a revenge killing", family of two victims in Lezha: Other leads should be investigated

Gjergji Neli, the lawyer and relative of Kreshnik and Gentiana Mujeci, the couple killed today in Lezha, in a public statement calls for the full investigation of the crime and states that revenge is not the only track the police should investigate.
He condemned the criminal act and called on law enforcement agencies to identify and hold the perpetrators accountable. At the same time, Neli criticized several media reports that link the incident to revenge motives, describing them as unfounded and demanding that other investigative leads not be excluded. Regarding the incident from several years ago, Neli says that Mjeci has not been found guilty.
According to him, Kreshnik Mujeci was a regular family man and respected in the community, engaged in livestock farming together with his wife.
At the end of his reaction, he called on the media to show responsibility in reporting and avoid spreading unverified information, while demanding justice and transparency for this serious criminal event.

For the Serious and Macabre Event of the Attempt on Kreshnik Mujeci and his Family
It is with great sadness and regret that I learned the bitter news regarding the serious incident of an assassination that occurred today in the village of Balldren, Balldre Administrative Unit, Lezha Municipality, where citizens Kreshnik Mujeci and Gentjana Mujeci tragically lost their lives. Therefore, for this macabre assassination, we express our deep pain and solidarity with the families of the victims at this difficult moment.
We strongly condemn this serious criminal act and demand from law enforcement agencies a full and swift investigation of the incident, as well as holding the perpetrators accountable.
At the same time, we publicly condemn the statements of some media outlets, which have alluded that this event is mainly related to revenge motives, since the blood and clan of the Mujeci have no obligation to them, versions of this nature may also be one of the suspected leads for law enforcement agencies, but we advise not to forget other leads and suspicions about the criminal event that occurred. Kreshnik Mujeci was a regular family man, loved and respected by his relatives and the entire community around Lezha and Shkodra, who was involved in livestock farming together with his late wife to cope with normal life in the service of the family.
These claims are untrue and unfounded beyond any doubt regarding the 2017 event in Mount Jushi, which has been dealt with and exhausted by the competent bodies, namely the Shkodra Prosecution Office, as well as the Shkodra Court of First Instance and the Shkodra Court of Appeal.
At the end of these processes, citizen Kreshnik Mujeci was found not guilty in relation to that event. Consequently, any attempt to link today's event with such allegations is unacceptable and violates the truth, as well as unfairly burdens the victims' families.
We call on the media to show professional responsibility, verify information, and avoid spreading inaccurate news that could negatively impact public opinion and the dignity of families allegedly involved in the conflict.
For this reason, we demand justice and clarification of the incident, complete transparency regarding this macabre and serious event.
May God strengthen the family and all friendships wherever they are.
