Wanted for murder, young Albanian arrested at Colombia Airport

Arian Lluka, a Kosovo Albanian citizen, has been arrested by Colombian authorities at El Dorado International Airport, as he is wanted by Kosovo institutions for the criminal offenses of "aggravated murder" and "causing general danger."
The arrest was announced by Colombia's Defense Minister, Pedro Arnuflo Sanchez, who stressed that the suspect had used false identities to evade international justice. Kosovo had notified Interpol that this citizen is accused of the murder of Fidan Shabi in 2012 in Peja.
According to the Colombian minister, investigations have revealed that Arian Lluka, during the period 2023-2026, had moved to several countries using legitimate documents with an alternative Serbian identity.
"Investigations show that between 2023 and 2026, he moved through various countries using legitimate documentation under an alternative Serbian identity, trying to evade international controls and the action of justice," Sanchez stated.
He praised international cooperation and the work of Colombian authorities in this operation, emphasizing that the arrest proves Colombia's capacity to face global threats and guarantee security.
"This result shows that Colombia maintains effective capabilities for international cooperation and migration control in the face of global threats," the Colombian minister wrote.
