Left 500 employees in the middle of the road, the State Labor Inspectorate lands

The State Inspectorate of Labor and Social Services is monitoring developments in the Turkish company Kurum International, which unofficially declared a few days ago that work at the Steel Plant has been suspended for more than 1 week.

The reason for the interruption according to the company is the increase in the cost of steel production, making this company not competitive with the market of China and Turkey.

The Turkish company claims that the employees have been notified and that an agreement has been made with the union of the employees on the termination of work.

With the closure of the activity, it results that at least 500 employees remain without work. The Durrës Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations, and the entire state apparatus is investigating the case after the company made the sudden move by closing the doors to 500 workers and suspending production activity.

Currently, only the sales department continues to work in this company. Closed are the Steel and Rolling Mill. Workers have been promised the continuation of payment until October 2024.

A group of prosecutors and economic crime officers have landed at the Turkish Company's offices where they have blocked its documentation and archives.
