A serious road accident that occurred a few days ago on the Librazhd-Përrenjas axis has ended tragically, taking the life of Chinese citizen Li Jianhong and leaving six other people injured.
The event has also attracted widespread attention in the Chinese media, which have revealed the profile of the person who passed away, emphasizing that he was one of the most well-known and influential entrepreneurs in the Xinjiang region. According to reports, Li Jianhong was in Albania for a working visit and at the time of the accident was traveling together with several of his compatriots, as part of activities related to investments and business cooperation in our country.
Li Jianhong, 60, born in December 1965, was the president of Xinjiang Grand Scape Group and founder of the famous Silkroad Mountain Resort in Urumqi, one of the most important winter tourism projects in China. He started his career in the telecommunications sector, but in 1993 he decided to leave an institute in Guangzhou to return to Xinjiang, where he built his private business from scratch.
The company he led grew over the years into a large group with activities spanning various fields, including telecommunications, tourism and investment management. Xinjiang Grand Scape Group managed assets worth around 1.4 billion yuan and employed thousands of people, ranking among the most important private companies in the region.
In 2002, the group was among the founders of the “Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar”, one of the most recognizable symbols of the city of Urumqi, a project from which the company withdrew in 2017. Meanwhile, through investments in tourism, Li Jianhong left a special mark with the development of the “ Silkroad Mountain Resort”, an important destination for winter sports in China.
Beyond his business success, he was also known for his passion for extreme sports and outdoor adventures. Li Jianhong had completed the famous “Explorer's Grand Slam” challenge, climbing the seven highest peaks of the continents and reaching both poles of the Earth.
In 2018, at the age of 53, he managed to climb the summit of Everest, as well as completed the ascent of Mount Lhotse, ranking among climbers with rare achievements at the international level.
A statement released on April 30 by Silkroad Mountain Resort confirmed the news of Li Jianhong's passing, stating that he died in a car accident during a business trip abroad.
In his early years as an entrepreneur, he founded Xinjiang Hongjing with an initial capital of just 30,000 yuan, later turning it into one of the most successful enterprises in the region. Currently, the group he created ranks among the 30 largest private companies in Xinjiang, with a market value of about 1.4 billion yuan.
His contribution was not limited to the economy. In 2021, Li Jianhong was awarded the title of “National Model Employee in the Sports System,” an appreciation for his commitment and achievements in the field of sports.
