Leonard Duka's trial! The accused pleads not guilty, Santiago Malko's mother demands the death penalty: He killed my son in the middle of the street!

The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCAC) is expected to announce on January 21, at 11:45, the decision in the case against Leonard Duka, for whom SPAK has requested a sentence of 32 years in prison.
During the hearing, defense attorney Melina Gjeta described SPAK's conclusions as unfounded in evidence and law. According to her, the investigative file contains only deductions built on an incomplete and biased process, based mainly on media reports.
The defense questioned Blendi Tetë's testimony, emphasizing that he stated before the court that he was threatened and pressured by the State Police and other persons, which according to the lawyer constitutes a serious legal violation and makes the testimony invalid. According to her, Tetë's claims are also confirmed by the testimony of co-defendant Ilir Selmani, who stated that 500 thousand euros were given to "sink" the Duka brothers.
Lawyer Gjeta also disputed the alleged motive for the murder, stressing that the two injuries allegedly related to the victim Santiago Malko are still unsolved and the proceedings have been suspended. According to her, the prosecution cannot determine authorship for events that have not been solved by the competent authorities.
The hearing also opposed the use of Sky application transcripts, which the defense described as illegal evidence that violates the freedom and confidentiality of correspondence. According to it, the interception by the French authorities was massive and not targeted, while the identification of the codes was done in an unprofessional manner and outside standard procedures. Leonard Duka himself stated before the court that he did not use the Sky application.
For his part, Leonard Duka pleaded not guilty, stating that there is no concrete fact against him and that the case is fabricated to harm him. “I have faith in justice,” he told the jury.
Meanwhile, the mother of the victim Santiago Malko declared before the court that Leonard Duka is responsible for the murder of her son. She requested the maximum sentence for the defendant, stating that she is not asking for life imprisonment, but the death penalty.
The GJKKO's decision on this matter is expected to be announced on January 21, at 11:45.
