Applications for candidacies for the position of director of the National Bureau of Investigation are open today until 4:00 p.m.

The deadline was Friday, but it was postponed because it was an official holiday due to the Eid al-Adha holiday.

SPAK is expected to have an official announcement today during the day closing the application deadline, where the names that have expressed interest in running for the head of the BKH, with a 5-year mandate, are also expected to be made public.

Two of the names that have been learned so far are the former General Director of the State Police, Gledis Nano, and Joni Keta, currently deputy director of the BKH.

The process is conducted at SPAK by a selection committee with 3 prosecutors, Altin Dumani, Altin Kraha and Behar Dibra.

Aida Hajnat's mandate ends on August 31. She had the right to run for re-election to a mandate, but she did not submit the documentation.

The process of appointing the new director will be carried out in 7 stages: logical reasoning test, medical examination, physical test, written essay, interview, and then background check, asset declaration, and polygraph test.
