Roberto Martínez to announce Portugal's Nations League squad, with

PORTUGAL - Coach Roberto Martínez will announce on Tuesday the list of players Portugal have called up for the Nations League final, which will be held in Germany in June, with Dalot and Cancelo among the main doubts.

Due to physical problems, the two full-backs could miss the two matches on German soil, in a call-up in which once again the possible presence of João Félix raises questions and which could have the surprise debut of Rodrigo Mora, from FC Porto.

Having just turned 18, Mora had a brilliant end to the season with the 'Dragons' and everything points to him earning his first call-up to the senior national team.

Having experienced another disappointing season in his career, first at Chelsea and then at AC Milan, João Félix, although he has always deserved Martínez's trust, could now be left out of the Spanish coach's choices.

Diogo Dalot has been absent for Manchester United due to injury, as has João Cancelo from Al Hilal, having already missed the double clash with Denmark in the quarter-finals.

Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Gonçalo Ramos appear to have their places guaranteed, although all three players still have to play against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, which will be just four days before the start of the Nations League.

Roberto Martínez's choices will be announced at 12:30, at a press conference at Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras.

The national team's first match will be on June 4, against Germany, and, if they win, they will play the final on June 8, also at the Allianz Arena.

If they end up defeated by the Germans, the Portuguese team will play in the third and fourth place matches, which will also be in 8th place, but in Stuttgart.

Portugal qualified for the semi-finals of the Nations League, defeating Denmark in Lisbon, at the Estádio da Luz, 5–2 in extra time, after 3–2 in regular time, recovering from a 1–0 deficit in the first leg, in Copenhagen.

Before this quarterfinal clash, the Portuguese team had won Group 1 ahead of Croatia, Scotland and Poland.

Portugal, still with Fernando Santos at the helm, won the inaugural edition of the Nations League in 2019, after subsequently failing to qualify for the 'final four' in the 2020/21 and 2022/23 seasons.
