From football to politics, Mërgim Mavraj candidate for deputy

From the football field to politics. The former captain of the national team, Mergim Mavraj, will be a candidate for deputy in the Parliament of Kosovo.

He will participate in the national elections next February 9. The 38-year-old will represent the political entity "Lista per Familje", which is led by two former deputies of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Visar Korenica and Eman Rrahmani.

It was the latter who made official the news about the candidacy of the former defender, while the official announcement is also expected from Mergim Mavrajt himself.

The former Red and Black captain joined the Albanian National Team in 2012 and announced his retirement from the team in August 2020, after 8 years during which he recorded 50 international matches, while also playing in the Euro 2016 finals in France.
