Kylian Mbappé is officially Europe's top scorer for the 2024/25 season. With 31 goals in La Liga and 62 points accumulated, the French 'star' of Real Madrid has won the prestigious "Golden Boot" award for the first time in his career.

This trophy crowns a season that effectively ends after collective success in his debut with the white shirt, but leaving an immediate mark on Spanish and European football.

Mbappé faced stiff competition from Viktor Gyökeres, who scored 39 goals in the Portuguese league. However, due to the Portuguese league's lower goal-scoring coefficient (1.5 points per goal), the Swedish forward collected 58.5 points, less than Mbappé, who benefited from La Liga's higher value (2 points per goal).

The race was finally over in the match against Real Sociedad, where Mbappé scored twice to take the lead. Mohamed Salah was the only one who could challenge him, but he needed four goals to win in the last match against Crystal Palace. He scored just once, finishing with 29 goals and 58 points.

In total, Mbappé has scored 43 goals this season with Real Madrid in all competitions, an absolute record for a debutant at “Los Blancos”. With this achievement, he has left behind legends such as Iván Zamorano (37 goals) and Cristiano Ronaldo (33 goals in his first season).

Winning the Golden Boot is just the beginning of what looks to be a glorious new era for him and Real Madrid.
