Lenglet signs with Atletico Madrid, an experienced reinforcement for Simeone's defense

After officially parting ways with Barcelona, ​​Clement Lenglet immediately found a new team.

The French defender has signed with Atletico Madrid, returning to La Liga as part of Diego Simeone's project.

The news was announced by the Madrid club itself through an official announcement, confirming that Lenglet has signed a medium-term contract with "Los Colchoneros".

Lenglet arrives as a free agent after the end of his contract with Barcelona, ​​with whom he played from 2018 to 2022, before moving on to successive loans to Tottenham, Aston Villa and most recently to Atletico Madrid.

During last season's loan, he played 34 games under Cholo Simeone, convincing the management to make the transfer permanent.

His transfer did not include any transfer fee, while the player has agreed to significantly reduce his salary compared to previous years in the Premier League.

The new agreement is for two years with an option for renewal.

After confirming the deal, Lenglet stated:
