My exclusion from the race for president of the Democratic Party of Albania is not a political decision - it is fear of the race.
Together in Elbasan with the Democrats who have sacrificed years of their lives for this party, we gave a clear answer today to both the "red-blooded" MP and Sali Berisha: the race does not stop with exceptions and is not afraid of pressures.
The Democrats in Elbasan are not a group of people for campaigning. They are democrats who have shared the difficulties, work and sacrifices for the Democratic Party and who today showed that dignity is not excluded by a decision.
But let me be clear: they can exclude me from the race, but they cannot exclude the voice of the Democrats. A party that fears the race is actually afraid of its own Democrats and their free voice.
Long live the Democratic Party of Albania.
