Kate Beckinsale claims she was injured on the set of 'Black Canary', sues producers

Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale (51 years old) is suing the producers of the film "Black Canary" because, according to her, they exposed her to "dangerous and unsafe conditions" during filming in Zagreb and Rovinj, despite a serious knee injury she suffered on set.
The film, which she shot for Amazon, premiered in October 2024 and it all began in 2022, when Beckinsale suffered a torn meniscus in her left knee in the middle of filming.
After the surgery, her doctor specifically forbade her from doing any acrobatics – no running or jumping.
The producers reportedly ignored all of this.
The actress is now suing production company 'Anton Entertainment Media Services Inc.' and producer John Zois for negligence, emotional abuse and physical assault.
She claims they ignored medical advice and forced her to perform dangerous action scenes, causing her injuries to worsen, People reports.
Beckinsale and her team have repeatedly warned about the extreme working conditions, including working days of up to 15 hours, without sufficient medical support and timely information about minor act scenes.
While the legal battle takes place in the US, it is interesting that “Black Canary” was filmed mainly in Croatia, in Zagreb and Rovinj. Filming lasted from October 2022 to January 2023.
