Adriatic journalist Riza Dosti who lives in the USA has shared a status on Facebook where he talks about the singer Parashqevi Simaku. The story of the latter has shocked public opinion quite a bit, after a video published in an American media where a woman who is suspected of Simak in New York receives help as a person in need.
Dosti tells how during the years 1982-1991, she became one of the most respected and beloved singers for Albanians, winning many awards at festivals such as Magical Song, Seasonal Songs and May Decade, as well as reaching the peak of career at the RTSH National Festival.
At the end of 1991, Parashqevi decided to emigrate to the USA to continue her personal and artistic life. She became part of the musical group "Jehona e Ilirise" and participated in many artistic events, appearing for Albanians in the diaspora. In the US, Parashqevi was well-liked for her wonderful voice and rich repertoire, always receiving applause for her performances.
However, her life took a difficult turn after her divorce from her husband and unsuccessful attempts to realize her dreams in Hollywood. After the divorce, Parashqevi went through a long period of depression and suffering, experiencing great personal and artistic difficulties. She also experienced some health problems and left the music scene after 2006, at the age of 40, retiring from the career she had built with so much effort and passion.
Despite the many challenges she has gone through, Parashqevi has always maintained a high reputation for her extraordinary talent and dignified character. Her persistence but also her final goal...after she had already settled in America...was to leave the music group where she worked and join Hollywood, so try to go further and higher and not remain just a singer in a music group …… precisely this thing led to the contradictions between husband and wife between Parashqevisa and her husband... until it led to divorce.

Then...life took a painful turn...and it started immediately after the divorce...he went into depression...after the disappointment he suffered in LA...he had various health problems...he left the scene...even [I pray to God it's not true] I have I heard that he also used narcotics as a tranquilizer...etc etc...while he didn't even think about returning to Albania...Master Agim told me Krajka...memories and stories that belong to the years when he and his family also lived here in America for several years.
That's all I know about the wonderful Albanian singer Parashqevi Simaku...which I told you, my Albanian sister and brother...with the great hope and belief that in whatever situation she is going through, misfortune will never put her down or bring her to her knees...but to find the strength and confidence in yourself to be what all Albanians have known over the years...noble and dignified.
