Details of the SP-PD pact for voting on the EU membership resolution,

At a time when there seemed to be a deep difference of opinion between the majority and the opposition regarding Albania's EU membership process, white smoke suddenly appeared in the Parliament.
There are few cases when consensus is reached in the Albanian Parliament between the SP and the DP on joint documents, as happened this Thursday morning with the resolution on integration.

The resolution provides for comprehensive cooperation and commitment to advancing integration.

" To promote inclusive political and social dialogue to ensure national consensus on European priorities. The majority is committed to ensuring the conditions for the full participation of the opposition in parliamentary activity, to respect its demands in accordance with democratic standards, the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly" , said Igli Hasani.

While Albana Vokshi said: " This variant, this resolution is over 90% contribution of the opposition, this is what it means when the opposition is not excluded, when the opposition is not rejected, when the opposition is allowed to participate in the processes ."

But how was this agreement reached at the height of the debates, when the opposition in recent weeks has spoken of blocking integration and failing the IBAR exam, while the majority has declared that it is a normal continuation of negotiations with the EU?

Over the last 48 hours, Top Channel has learned that the two protagonists of the agreement are Taulant Balla and Gazment Bardhi.

There was a phone call between them, where Balla expressed his willingness to look at the opposition's proposals, setting up a working group in the Foreign Affairs Committee with Ilda Zhulali, advisor to the DP group, and Edmond Haxhinasto from the opposition, as well as Erion Malaj with Romina Kuko from the majority.

It is learned that the opposition's proposals have undergone changes in wording, resulting in a final product that has gone to Parliament for a vote and is expected to be approved in the coming hours.

The draft resolution has also received the blessing of Edi Rama and Sali Berisha, a constant critical voice for the way the government is dealing with European integration./Tch
