Diaspora Vote/ 13 thousand applications from 5 continents! From the Caribbean islands, Saint Helena and all the way to the Philippines

The growing numbers of the diaspora applying to the CEC to vote have exceeded 13,000. Along with the numbers, the data also tells us about the spread of Albanians around the world, atypical places, which are not known as destinations for our emigration tradition.
No one is surprised when Albanians from Italy and Greece together make up half of the applicants. Nor is the concentration of Albanians in Germany, the US or England surprising.
Although the numbers of applications outside these countries are low, our ballots will fly in sealed envelopes to all continents. Perhaps for the first time we will discuss, for a small island state near Africa, called Saint Helena, a British territory in the south of the Atlantic Ocean. From there, 11 Albanian voters have applied so far. From two other African countries, such as Zambia or Angola, one application has come.
Also notable are requests from Albanians living on some exotic islands in the Caribbean, such as Anguilla, where 8 applications have come from, the British Virgin Islands with 4 applications, or requests from Guadeloupe, Antigua and Barbuda, and even Mexico.
In Europe, a request has come from a small island near England, autonomous under the British Crown, the small Isle of Man, part of the British Isles.
The spread of Albanians in Asia is wide, from India, to Korea, the Philippines and Singapore.
The map could expand even further by March 4, with places we may have never heard of, let alone thought to have Albanians living there, let alone engaged Albanians who want to vote.
