It has been years since the symbol that identifies Albanians in events and public gatherings is the eagle with hands. A gesture that has "maddened" people, who express their viral patriotism on the networks, but who do not leave behind the politicians and public figures who want to earn points to show themselves as patriots.

There is no longer any event or party where the two-handed eagle is not used. A symbol that has driven our neighbors crazy, especially the Serbs and Greeks, who have been horrified by it.
They don't leave a chance without insulting him on the networks, or even protesting institutionally when they consider it a "provocation". Although the Serbs have the eagle on their flag, the Greeks have also included it in the so-called "Flag of Vorio-Epirus".
Finally, it can be clearly said that the eagle with hands has been cemented as a cult symbol, namely a popular totem representing the Albanians.
But how was it born, who for the first time publicly took out the eagle with his hands, and then it turned into a phenomenon that is used by world VIPs, who, for various reasons, want to show their sympathy towards Albanians.

The beach during communism
Who was born at the end of the 60s of the last century, or mainly in the 70s, remembers an almost viral phenomenon that was practiced on the sandy beaches of the Adriatic Sea mainly, which were also the most overcrowded. At that time there were no Chers-long or deckchairs on the beaches. Everyone was lying on the wide, long sand, and only some "microbourgeois" guy had fashioned a portable chair or a towel from Europe.
Children, as one of the most popular games among them, or small competitions, made the eagle with their hands and put it on their chest, and then lay on the sand, competing to see who makes it the most beautiful.
Then the children of the 80s or 90s, which is generally called the "chocolate generation", not only did not do this, but they did not get dirty on the beach sand. The sunbeds, mattresses and towels came out, where the sand was called terrible even if it stuck to your feet, where it was removed as if it were dirt. So that gesture of the eagle disappeared as a cool phenomenon. The children of the 70s had become men, where the beach for them was not lying on the sand, but cuddling or wading through the water with girls.
Returning to the public
Kreshnik Spahiu made the eagle with his hands for the first time in public in 2011, in an activity of the Red Alliance that he just founded, where he said "Albanians should not make two fingers or a fist, but the eagle".
After Kreshnik, this symbol was made by the then captain of the red and black national team, Lorik Cana, and a group of artists who also made a video clip on behalf of the Red Alliance. An element of cabaret parody even returned to Orange
Then, the eagle turned into a "nationalist provocation", after it caused controversy, so instead of stopping it, they made a popular gesture. In fact, Ilir Meta, the man who did everything for Edi Rama in 2013 to prevent the Red Alliance from joining the coalition against Berisha, turned it into the most beloved gesture when he was President with the "people of March 2". Of course he turned it into a parody. But in the political aspect, the eagle opened up so many problems that Berisha set up an investigative commission to punish Kreshnik Spahiu, then Vice-President of KLD, because "he is ruining our relations with our neighbors.
However, the waters flowed, together with its politics and movements, and today the eagle with hands is a cult gesture, where Pelasgian mythomaniacs have begun to look for it in ancient writings or sculptures. However, the author, i.e. Kreshnik Spahiu, probably did not register it as a patent to get at least the copyright. Maybe not when it turns into popular joy, but into a political pamphlet…
