Rama and Berisha like Siamese brothers, the former socialist minister reveals the "secret": They changed the Constitution

Former Finance Minister Arben Malaj gave an interview to News 24 where he strongly criticized the way the Socialist Party has been transformed since 2005, when Edi Rama took over. He said that the Socialist Party changed its organization and leadership 100%, turning it, according to him, into a structure similar to a military unit. Malaj said that his first debate with Rama was precisely about this issue, opposing the use of wiretapping devices and Rama's connection to the secret services.
" The SP, unlike the DP, has a division into mandates under different leaders. The DP was born and will die politically with the same party leader. While the SP, after 2005, when Rama came, changed 100% the way it would organize and lead the SP. My first debate with him was that the SP cannot be a military unit. Because as soon as Rama came to power, he started using these eavesdropping devices, I don't know why he is so in love with secret services. We have had a debate and it has not been easy. Rotation happens, but not like in Albania where you have the first mandate, have more points in the second mandate and more votes in the 3rd mandate and declare yourself the king prime minister in the 4th mandate. So my idea was that the SP should be modernized before coming to power. While Rama was of the idea that it should come to power and then modernize ," he said.
He accused Rama of having made political “collusion” with Sali Berisha to change the Constitution, and brought examples of cases when Rama has threatened his associates within the SP. Malaj described the wiretapping as a “serious disease for democracy” and also mentioned the McGonigal scandal, saying that Rama had taken the former head of Romania’s secret services without clear reasons.
"Rama made a pact with his Siamese brother Berisha and changed the Constitution. That threatening meeting that Rama held, that told Damian, I know where what you're doing here will lead, that also told Spiropali how you speak badly about our government. Edi told the former Interior Minister that he curses me in police stations means that Rama has been badly affected by a very serious disease for democracy, which is wiretapping. Rama took the former head of Romania's secret services from Romania, I don't know what he needed it for. The scandal he made with McGonigal," said Malaj.
