Former Democratic MP, Ervin Salianji, has reacted to accusations directed at him by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, for "self-exclusion" due to allegations that he has links to crime.
Salianji stated that the alleged connections will become clearer over time, but the question remains whether there will be an open competition and free vote for the Democrats.
He raised the question of when accountability will be held for the Democratic Party's results and the promises made by the leadership, while criticizing how one candidate can exclude another.
"Who is involved and with whom we will have time and will clarify, but the questions remain; will there be an open competition? Will there be a free vote for the Democrats? How will the Democratic Party win? When? Will they be held accountable for the results and promises? Can one candidate exclude the other," he wrote.
He stated that in the absence of competition, "novels with self-exclusions are invented" and emphasized that this act did not happen to him, but underlined that he has been and is part of the DP with contributions and sacrifices until political prison.
