SP-PD clash over Balluk's immunity/Këlliçi: Rama can dismiss

Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi commented on the meeting held this Monday of the Mandates Council on the lifting of Belinda Balluku's immunity, for which DP members have issued statements contrary to the socialist party.

Invited to News24, Këlliçi said that during today's meeting, SPAK revealed that witnesses involved in the Balluk case have been intimidated and threatened with death by organized crime figures.

Also, according to Këlliç, it is expected that within the next two days, Edi Rama will convene the General Assembly of the Socialist Party, to finalize some changes in the government.

According to him, among the changes could be Balluku, who could be dismissed from her duties as deputy prime minister and minister, but "without violating her immunity."

"There was a shocking development in today's meeting. There was information that SPAK said that the witnesses involved in this file were not only intimidated by Balluku, but also by exponents of organized crime. This proves what we as the opposition have said, strategic investors in our country do not become large foreign companies, but this is used for government clients, for people in prison, it favors cartels.

"Based on informal information so far, within two days, Prime Minister Rama may call the SP assembly to make changes to the government, as he did in 2017 with Saimir Tahiri who knew he would be hit, along with him he removed 4-5 other ministers. The same is expected to be done this week, but without violating Balluku's immunity. He formally removes her as deputy prime minister and minister and maintains her immunity by guaranteeing her inviolability as long as he is prime minister," said Këlliçi.
