"Are you glorifying poverty and turning it into a virtue?!"/ Arlind Qori: We want to lift the poor out of poverty!

Arlind Qori and Redi Muçi from the Together Movement were invited to the show "The Exposed" on MCN TV, where they spoke about the party's program, their proposals, but also about some dilemmas that arise regarding the strong positions they have, especially regarding oligarchs and the rich. 

Ylli Rakipi : Sometimes it seems like you glorify poverty and turn it into a virtue. The poor are good and honest, the rich are thieves and heartless… Is there such a black and white division?

Arlind Qori : The poor are victims of social injustice. Among them are also alienated people, whom poverty pushes into crime. We are not saying that the poor are good and the rich are bad.

Ylli Rakipi : Sometimes it seems to us as if you want us to appreciate poverty, or do you want people to get rich?

Arlind Qori : The job is to ensure that the poor are no longer poor.

Redi Muçi : The problem that Albania has is the model that is idealized by young people, the rich, the gangster, who goes out in a luxury car.

Ola Xama: These are social models that politics does not combat.

Redi Muçi : He is the model of the rich man that Forbes magazine publishes, and it is not said that this rich man made his great fortune with the chrome mine, when the mining rent became zero and chrome...

Ola Xama : He bought televisions first.

Redi Muçi : When he became a billionaire. These are not mentioned anywhere. They even become television chronicles. The model that we challenge and want to give, we say that we are on the side of oppressed social groups.

Ola Xama: How much money does someone have to have to be considered rich? 

Arlind Qori: No one can give this answer, there are many ways of calculating. 
There are established journalists who identify with the Together Movement and have expressed their vote. The question arises, why among prominent and well-paid journalists, are there two who vote for us? If we ask the cameramen, there will be more than two. I appreciate those who are well-paid and go against their immediate interest, because with the Together Movement they pay more taxes. But who cares that Albania is transformed? The poorer you are, the more you care that things change. That is why we identify more with them.
