Meta requests relaxation of security measures, lawyers: Procedural violation by SPAK

The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has requested the replacement of the security measure of arrest with imprisonment, imposed by the Special Court in October last year.

Meta's defense confirmed that it submitted a request on Thursday for verification of conditions and replacement of the security measure from arrest to prison with another, more lenient measure.

In the defense arguments, it was claimed that in the "Meta" case, deadlines were violated, with 8 months passing and in no case was SPAK presented with two months' worth of information on the case.

Also, several ECHR decisions were presented in the arguments, as analogous cases, including the "Gëlçi" file.
