"You don't see any mistakes within the party!"/ Zhulali debates with Rakipi: Elections are not legitimate! Rama enjoys his mandate

Democratic Party representative, Ilda Zhulali, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, debated with journalist Ylli Rakipi regarding the DP's contestation of the May 11 elections and the lack of analysis within the party after the defeat. 

Ilda Zhulali: The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe discussed the election monitoring report in Albania. In this report, which had much more critical language than other reports, problems were identified not only those identified by the OSCE/ODIHR. The first additional element, organized crime, and the second, the inaction of SPAK and GJKKO to prevent and intervene in time.
The other elements, the party-state, the state of a state in which it is difficult to distinguish where the party begins and where the state ends. The entire arsenal in the hands of the state, resources, means, pressure, seduction and any other form, have been used to alienate the will of Albanian voters. Another element, vote buying, which was also stated in the report, is an endemic issue. All the elements taken together, the problem of the media, which has censorship and censorship itself, because it serves groups linked to the government. The case of Tik Tok is also included, another censorship decision.

Ylli Rakipi: The DP has lost the elections very badly. You hold Rama responsible. But does anyone within your party hold anyone responsible?

Ilda Zhulali : A debate should also take place within the party.

Ylli Rakipi : Not only is this problem not raised at all. Even if they steal votes for 12 years...

Ilda Zhulali : If you were told that you live in a country where the state is run by a party, does that mean anything to you? Does the opposition have problems? Yes.

Ylli Rakipi : Okay, but we also have an opposition party-state.

Ilda Zhulali : Can we have a perfect opposition under the conditions of a party state and organized crime?

Ylli Rakipi: Your party is also behaving like a party-state within the opposition. There is a recount process, and the time is being postponed.

Ilda Zhulali: At the first moment when the DP did not support it, there was a huge media outcry. The DP said to take the process to the end and open another discussion. The candidates… It is not the DP and Berisha who instigated it.

Ylli Rakipi : There is no analysis inside.

Ilda Zhulali : I admitted that we have not done an analysis because we have not closed the process.

Ylli Rakipi : Yes, you are deliberately delaying the process. With this recount, and then time passes.

Ilda Zhulali: We have released the violations on video, we have sent them to all bodies as provided by law. We have informed the OSCE ODHIR. We have ensured that a fact-finding mission for the elections will come in September. Why will they come? If there is nothing to worry about, they will not come. The legitimacy of this process is still in question, Rama did not receive this mandate to celebrate it. The opposition must make every effort to go to the request for a repeat of the elections, with a caretaker government. In North Macedonia, the elections were postponed three times. Gruevski's party challenged the opposition, saying let's go to the elections because it knew it would win. The EU and the US intervened and said a technical government was needed. The EU and the US said that the conditions for the elections are important. The date was postponed three times until the conditions for equal competition were created, so that the elections would have meaning. This is what we are demanding. We think that at the very least, we have put this process in a rut that we did not have before the elections.
