5 deputies leave, hand over their mandates on the eve of the elections

Five deputies will submit their mandate within this week, so that they can be registered as candidates for mayor at the Central Election Commission.

The Socialist Party will sacrifice only two legislators to try local victories in Shkodër and Gramsh.

The biggest risk was taken by Benet Beci, who is trying to win a municipality that the socialists have never won. But his departure brings back Ilir Beqajn to the stage. He will receive a ticket from the Central Election Commission to return to the Assembly, because he is the 4th most voted candidate. This result left him out of parliament in 2021, where Beqaj became the only political leader of the SP district who could not secure his seat.

Even now, it is not certain whether the former minister will be reinstated in the parliament. In political circles, it is being discussed that another candidate aspires to the mandate, and he is Kabir Fishta. For the son of the businessman of the area to enter the parliament, he must reject the mandate, not only Beqaj, but also his successor Frrok Gjini.

In the Shkodër district, there will be changes of deputies from the Democratic Party as well.

Sali Berisha has confirmed the candidacy of Zef Hila for Vau e Deja, securing a mandate for Ludovik Hasan, while Bardh Spahia will reject the opportunity to be re-elected as deputy, in an effort to keep the municipality.

The official DP may run for Malësi e Madhe deputy Ramadan Lika, which has not yet been confirmed, but if it happens, this would bring back Izmira Ulqinak to Parliament.

In Elbasan, SP will have a new MP, Shkëlqim Bullarin, who will take the place of Besjan Ajaz, who will compete for Gramsh.

The place of Luciano Boci, who competes in Elbasan on behalf of Foltores, will be taken by Qani Xhafa.

If the movements for the socialists do not have any great significance, the new flows from the democrats' list leave room for monitoring which camp they will join: in Seli with Berisha, or in Alibeaj where the seal is.
