The court ruled in favor of Basha for the prime minister's involvement in "Dossier 313", burning Rama and exploding with insults: Humorous judge!
Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted sharply after the decision of the Tirana Court of First Instance, which dismissed the lawsuit he had filed against Lulzim Basha in 2018 for "defamation" that the prime minister was involved in electoral crimes. Through a post on the X platform, Rama attacks and bullies the judge's reasoning, calling it "a satirical judicial event" that should concern the entire justice system. In 2018, after the publication of the scandalous wiretaps by "Voice of America" and "Bild", opposition leader Basha accused Rama of being connected to the crime of manipulating votes. After being sued for defamation by Rama, yesterday, with a reasoned decision of 13 pages, the court dismissed the prime minister.
"I have not suffered any harm, because I am still prime minister," Rama quotes the judge's reasoning, who, according to him, ruled that defamation does not exist as long as it has not affected the public perception of him.
"This reasoning did not come from a humor book, but from a court, and this judge who issued the decision is paid more than a teacher or a doctor," he wrote, linking this case to the request of the Union of Judges for a salary increase of 700 euros.
Rama expressed his doubts about the judge's level of logic, calling it lower than that of a 12-year-old. He asked justice institutions, including the High Judicial Council and the High Inspectorate of Justice, to intervene and establish responsibility for such cases, which according to him endanger citizens' trust in justice.
“The problem is not what happened with a defamation case, but what could happen with much more important issues that directly affect ordinary people,” Rama concludes.
The Court of First Instance of Tirana today dismissed my defamation lawsuit against Luli in 2018, for which the judge took seven years to reach the conclusion that, I "as a plaintiff have not suffered any damage, since I currently hold the office of Prime Minister and the statement", so Luli's defamation "has not affected the perception of me in the public"!!! So according to the judge, Luli has not defamed as long as his defamation has not removed me from office!!! Now that this reasoning did not come from a humorous book, but from a court and that the reasoning is not the author of "The Good Soldier Schweik", but a judge who is paid more than a teacher or a doctor from Albanian taxes, this is a fact to cry about and not to laugh about - when you then think that this judge belongs to the Union that is demanding a 700 Euro salary increase from the Constitutional Court, crying becomes wailing! While if you then add to this satirical judicial event, the doubt about how the people's rights can be put in the hands of such a judge, then you have to ask: Will the Judiciary government, with its senior advisors and inspectors and hundreds of well-paid administration employees, wake up from their slumber to put through the filter of high public responsibility the deeds and tragedies that the rights of ordinary people face in courtrooms?! And let's be clear, the problem is not what a judge did with a defamation case, especially when the defamers in question don't even take the unlaced shoes she wears seriously :-) Here the problem is how the people's rights will be put in the hands of much more important issues, which depend on the mind of the judge in question or others like her, who have a logical level below the capacity of a 12-year-old!!!
