DASH publishes list of most dangerous countries for Americans, Albania and Kosovo at Level 2: They are asked to "exercise increased caution"

The US State Department has continued to update travel advisories for countries around the world, with a number of Middle Eastern countries having increased security warnings and some of the most dangerous advisories issued during the Iran war.

These act as important tools for Americans to better plan their international travels, not only helping them choose safer destinations, but also making it clear which parts of different destinations pose risks.

Level 4 Tips

For all destinations under a Level 4 advisory, the highest level issued, Americans are advised not to travel to those countries at all, as the risks to their personal safety are particularly high.

Countries where there is ongoing conflict in addition to other risks are often given a Level 4 advisory, although specific risks associated with a destination are noted in information on the State Department's website. Destinations under this advisory going into April include the following:
