Analyst Baton Haxhiu asked Gjon why the DP did not distance itself from the violence, if it was carried out by infiltrators. The MP stated that there was a mix of fireworks and Molotov cocktails during the protest, and that 80% were fireworks.
Baton Haxhiu : You are creating a political crisis, there is no doubt about it. Before we enter this political crisis, I am asking you as a man of justice. From a political and analytical perspective, we know and can conclude that Molotov is a political force. But as a man of justice, I am asking you, is Molotov a crime and is it a weapon?
Gjin Gjoni : Now, I will divide myself into two points of view. The first is as a man of law, being 28 years in law enforcement functions is different from being a politician. The problem is, the protests also have an element of such a nature, that Molotov cocktails are also thrown, because the events are not separated from the protests that are taking place in Paris, Brussels and Greece, that half of Brussels is burning.
Baton Haxhiu: First, the protest is being led by a party. In Greece or Brussels, it is NGOs, or citizens, who are dissatisfied, that is another thing. But when a political party uses Molotov cocktails as a weapon to seize power, that is another thing. Now speak to me as a man of justice.
Gjin Gjoni : The problem is that the DP, as the leader of the DP, Berisha, has declared, is for peaceful national protests. In itself, the protest, both in its call and in its continuity, is peaceful, but the part of managing people who are irritated towards the government, since the irritation goes beyond political parties, we must be clear, is also built with elements, people who are militants of the police, patronage, people of the intelligence service, infiltrated within the protest, to create this kind of image. Every protest organized by the DP is considered a peaceful protest.
Ylli Rakipi : How would you act as a judge if you were accused of teenagers filling bags with Molotov cocktails?
Gjin Gjoni : 43 people were arrested and it turns out that only 18 people went to court, who were in the conditions of arrest in flagrante delicto. What is the result? Due to the lack of reasonable suspicion, all 18 were required to appear. So, let's get rid of the role of politician and move on to the role of judge. 9 of the people arrested were considered illegal. It turns out that the element of proof and the cause-effect relationship is one of the elements that the police do not prove the causal connection between the protest and the throwing of Molotov cocktails with the elements that go before the court. 80% of those we see in the international media are fireworks. Only a small part are Molotov cocktails. This is also according to the explanations in court, three of the people who were allegedly found with bags of gasoline or Molotov cocktails, did not seek the protection of the DP and did not want to be identified as people who support the Democratic Party, which raises the probability that people infiltrated by the police have provided means to incriminate the DP protest.
Baton Haxhiu: You say that these people who threw Molotov cocktails are SHISH people, infiltrated, or citizens, tell me when you finished the protest, is it Gjin Gjoni's statement, which says honorable citizens, today the DP holds a peaceful protest, we distance ourselves from those who violated the institutions. Are you able to say that they are SHISH people and we are against this?
