"Strawberry Moon", what you need to know about the beautiful full moon of June 2025

In a few days we will see the first full moon of June. The “Strawberry Moon” marks the beginning of summer and will light up the sky from the early evening hours of next Wednesday (11/06).

The June full moon is called the "Strawberry Moon" because this month is the right time to harvest the delicious summer fruits.

Full moon names come from Native American tribes in the US and Canada, and according to NASA, the "Strawberry Moon" was named so by the Algonquin tribe because of the abundance of the fruit during June in the region.

According to astrologer Tenae Stewart, “It is also called the pink moon, which has Celtic origins. It refers to the fact that in many parts of the northern hemisphere, strawberries are at their peak ripeness during this period.”

The fact that strawberries are ready to be picked in June is the perfect metaphor, says astrologer Stina Garbis.

– Honeymoon (because honey is ready to be harvested in June)

– Meadow Moon (since at that time the locals were making meadows)

– Rose Moon (because they bloom in June)

– Warm Moon (due to the high temperature in the area during the summer months)
