Attack on the school in Graz, Austria, among the victims is a girl from Kosovo, family members react: Our granddaughter tragically lost her life

A serious tragedy has struck the city of Graz in Austria, where a shooting at a high school has left at least 10 people dead, including the perpetrator.
Among the victims, unfortunately, is a girl from Kosovo, Lea Ilir Bajrami.
Muhabi Bajrami, a relative of the deceased, has reacted to the event, announcing the loss of his niece through a Facebook post, describing this moment as extremely difficult for the family.
"With a broken heart and great pain, we inform our family, friends and relatives that our granddaughter, Lea Ilir Bajrami, tragically lost her life in the attack that occurred in Graz, Austria. We pray for her soul and express our gratitude to all those who share our pain in these difficult moments," Bajrami wrote.
The serious incident has shocked public opinion in Austria and beyond, while authorities there are continuing investigations to fully unravel the case.
The news of the inclusion of a Kosovar citizen among the victims has also been confirmed by Kosovar journalist Vehbi Haliti, who lives and works in Graz.
In a statement to T7, Haliti said that the girl was the daughter of a member of the leadership of the Humanitarian Union in Graz.
"Unfortunately, I'm saying it's true. She's the daughter of one of our activists here in Graz. It's one of the biggest tragedies in Austria since World War II, in terms of intentional tragedies," Haliti declared, adding that for privacy reasons he would not publish the victim's identity.
Austria's Interior Minister, Gerhard Karner, confirmed that the perpetrator of the attack was a 21-year-old former student of the school who had left school without finishing.
After committing the massacre, he committed suicide at the scene. In addition to the victims, 12 other people were injured, some of them in serious condition.
In a sign of mourning, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker has declared three days of national mourning, while a minute of silence is expected to be held across the country tomorrow morning.
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has also reacted to this tragedy.
"Schools should be places where children dream, learn and grow, not places of violence and terror, " she wrote.
