Did you know that there are about 26,000 coffee bars in Albania? With a population of 2.4 million, this means: one coffee shop for every 92 citizens.
There are 8,300 cafes in Tirana, or one for every 72 customers, offering less waiting time and more space to enjoy an espresso or Turkish coffee.
Not only does Albania have more coffee shops per capita, but it also leads in spending. On average, an Albanian spends 270 euros a year on coffee, which is about 337 espressos a year, not including those consumed at home.
However, prices are expected to rise in February 2025, due to droughts in key producing areas such as Brazil and general price increases in the market. During 2024, prices increased by 10-20 ALL per cup.
