Zelensky: Putin lies to President Trump to avoid sanctions

President Trump sees that the Russians are not very open and honest about the war and I just think that Russia is lying to Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelkensky said in an interview with the German tabloid "Bild".

"It is important for Putin to show that there is a diplomatic bridge between Russia and Ukraine, so that new sanctions are not imposed on Russia," he stressed.

"Tsar Putin is just looking for reasons to attack. He doesn't want to end the war," Zelensky said. Zelensky then dismissed as "Russian narratives" reports that Moscow is the winner of the war.

"The Ukrainian army has been defending itself from a new offensive for almost three weeks and the Russians are not very successful, to put it mildly," he says.
