Trump unveils "Golden Card", online reservations for US citizenship open

Donald Trump introduced the Golden Card this Thursday, saying that permanent residency in the US is now for sale for $5 million.
The website trumpcard.gov is now online and you can sign up for the waiting list to receive the "gold card," the controversial program promoted by Donald Trump that offers foreign citizens a path to American citizenship in exchange for a $5 million payment.
"Trump Card!" the president wrote on Truth Social. The project, which according to the president does not require approval from Congress, does not guarantee automatic citizenship, but only preferential access, the procedure for which, however, remains unclear.
Trump described the initiative as a "more sophisticated" version of the green card. Meanwhile, the website, which features an image of a gold card with Trump's face, collects basic information about candidates (name, continent of origin, email, etc.) .
The president's goal is to replace the current EB-5 program, which offers investments of $800,000 to $1.05 million in exchange for a green card.
" People who come to America and buy this card are going to be rich and successful. They're going to spend a lot of money, pay a lot of taxes and create a lot of jobs ," Trump said.
