Trump sues the American media, demands 10 billion dollars in damages

The newly elected president in charge of America, Donald Trump, seems not to be leaving behind the criticism made about him by the media and publishers. In his victory speech, President Trump stated that the media is the "camp of the enemy" and he is now pursuing the issues through legal channels.
According to The Guardian, a few days before the presidential election, Trump's lawyer, Edward Andrew Paltzik, sent a letter to the New York Times and Penguin Random House, demanding $10 billion in damages for articles critical of Trump.
Also, it is alleged that the New York Times acted as a "voice of the Democratic party", engaging in an "industrial smear" campaign against political opponents.
But not only that, his letter stated that the New York Times intended to damage the image of Trump's "global" brand, including his real estate businesses, and damage his image as a presidential candidate.
In addition to the New York Times, the Daily Beast is also in the wave of accusations. In early November, Trump campaign co-chairman Chris LaCivita sent a letter regarding a correction to an article that reported LaCivita had raised $22 million for the Trump campaign.
But for Trump's team, the correction from the Daily Beast did not sufficiently clear LaCivita's name of the charge of misusing campaign funds.
CBS is also among the accused, during the October 7 interview with Deputy Prime Minister Kamala Harris. The lawsuit alleged that the interview was edited to interfere with the election and accuses CBS of "defamatory and deceptive" actions in support of the Harris campaign. CBS has responded by denying the allegations and calling the lawsuit "baseless."
Trump has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against the Washington Post, alleging that it made illegal in-kind contributions to the Harris campaign.
The Washington Post has also denied the allegations, calling them "unacceptable" and "without merit."
There has also been a reaction from the Committee for the Protection of Journalists, which has emphasized that Trump's attacks on the media are a "direct threat" to the freedom of the press inside and outside the USA.
With the arrival of Trump in power, it remains to be seen his approach in relation to the media, where the future of the freedom of the American media is expected to be problematic.
